I’m back and the pictures are now up.

The start of a good week…

begins with a massacre of Green and Yellow.

How about some Crank?

Tuesday, September 5th, 2006

Well that was a most excellent labor day weekend. It started with me finally making it home to dear ol’ Madison. Saturday we went to my Aunt and Uncle’s trailer in Elkhorn and no it isn’t that type of trailer. The lake was a little choppy, but a ride in a motorized boat is always a good time (beer not included). We ended that night with some Ian’s pizza and a couple (many) beers at Paul’s Club.

Sunday was a little more interesting at the Taste of Madison. I’d recommend the pulled pork from JAmerica any time. We also went and saw a fantastic movie called Crank. I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking for a kid-NOT-friendly movie that keeps your adult ADD at bay. Follow that up with some Porta Bella’s and some red wine and you have yourself a great weekend.

The Flying Saucer

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

So I ventured out to the Flying Saucer in downtown Houston tonight. Over 100 beers on tap with my favorite, Sierra Nevada, fortunately being one of those. I’d highly recommend this bar if you’re looking for about 20+ girls dressed with hooker boots in skirts. However, the ratio of blondes to non-blondes was 1:20: bummer!

My gramher and spelling is not well

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

Well in an effort to improve my grammar, spelling, and sentence coherency I’m going to try to blog once a day. I’m sure others will be excited about this as well because I lead such an exciting life here in Wisconsin. I have been teased or ridiculed by friends, co-workers, (ex)girlfriends, and strangers so I figured I’ll start here.

My entry today is simple, people in Texas talk to me in the elevators and it scares me.

Houston, TX

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

Well after an additional 3 hours and a stop in Austin I finally make it to lovely Houston. Just like VA it’s warm and humid and the A/C is set for 60 everywhere so I bring a long sleeve shirt everywhere I go.

Richmond, Virginia

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006

Well I made it to Virginia, but my luggage was delayed 12 hours. Thankfully the hotel called at 5AM this morning to let me know the luggage had arrived. I missed out on the spa last night and also brushing my teeth.

The good news is I’m about 2 hours from D.C. so I’m thinking about taking a drive over, anybody want to meet there?

Cubs

Wednesday, August 9th, 2006

Well I drove out to Wrigley Field Saturday to watch the Cubs play the Pirates with my good buddies. I miss the good old stadium and continue my disgust at U.S. Cellular field and how cold it feels compared to Wrigley. Then I went over to Miller Park last night to watch the Cubs take on the Brewers. Again a great game, but the stadium still felt cold compared to Wrigley. What is it about Wrigley field. That’s three Cub games this year for me, not too bad for a cheesehead.

Don’t Stop Believin

Monday, July 24th, 2006

Another fun-filled summer weekend has been accomplished. I went and saw Clerks 2 which I thought was fantastic, even Anne Franke would agree. The biggest highlight was the 3 minute trailer for Snakes on Plane which was followed up with a 2 minute ovation from the crowd.

In case you missed it Saturday night, Recess Rocks, was playing at the Cuckoo’s Nest in Cary, IL. The sound was good and we even received some free stickers so who could complain. Plus the beer was incredibly cheap. Some new pictures have been posted in the Pictures section of the site.

Sunday I saw Pirates 2 which left a lot to be desired. I thought the first film was mediocre, but this film was just boring and drawn out. What happened to all the funny quips that were stragetically placed in the first film. At least I didn’t see Lady in the Water.
