Sometimes my FAST doesn’t get along with my girlfriend…

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006

And if that’s the case she goes!  Just kidding, well after a considerable chunck of money my car is back in working order.  Although the only item saying it wasn’t was the service manual.  It’s been a crazy couple of weeks and I haven’t had much time to comment on my latest sushi adventures, but it looks like Tampa will be my next posting.  I think I managed to pull off a hotel on the ocean, we’ll see though.

In other news it seems my Aikido skills weren’t all lost as was proven last night, almost 6 months out of practice and I can still roll with the worst of them.  Lastly, I’m on a Michael Crichton binge fest lately, I finished Airframe last week and I’m almost finished with Prey; need more input!

How about a little Johnny Walker…

This was the comedian I saw this weekend, Johnny Walker. Check out the “Real” video, he was pretty funny.

Gathering interest for Europe…

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006

Well I was checking out flights tonight and I was hoping to find person(s) who would be interested in traveling to Europe sometime around the end of October or begining of November. The places I’m interested in are:

-Rome, Italy

-Munich and Berlin, Germany

-Prague, Czech Republic

-Vienna, Austria

-Dublin, Ireland

It looks like a trip to Dublin would be the most cost efficient this year, and I’ve been told you can easily spend a week in Dublin and since I have some roots there I’d like to go. Anyone else interested? Anyone else have any ideas? Let me know!

Sacramento: Part 2 – The Sushi Story

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006

Well I just had the best sushi ever today and I hate to say it put Takara to shame.  The cuts were so fresh and plump it was incredible and the maki was perfect, thank you for helping redeem my love for sushi after the awful sushi in Philly.

Sacramento is an all together interesting city, much like all of California everybody is concerned with the car they drive and everybody drives like the car is stolen, I love it.  For Valentine’s Day I had In ‘N Out burger it was excellent and just how I thought Valentine’s Day should be spent ;-) .

Sacramento: Part 1

Monday, February 13th, 2006

Well let’s see what went wrong today:

-Initial flight cancelled

-12 hours of time in transit

-Driving on I-5 at night trying to read directions at 80MPH

-Had to wait forever for Enterprise

What went right you ask?

-Blueberry pancakes!

-4 hour flight with nobody next to me and very smooth trip

-Huge room with a decent view

Well at least I made it out of both airports today, I was at ORD and of course the people in the gates surrounding are insane since the blizzard in the NE is causing chaos.  However, I listened to a professor’s phone conversation which was interesting.  He looked like a taller version of Bill Gates, but ironically was using an Apple PowerMac.

Sushi in Philly

Tuesday, February 7th, 2006

Well I had my sushi here in Philly and I was very unimpressed to say the least.  The actual portions were quite small and did not seem fresh.  In addition there selection included two of my least favorites: Roe (Fish Eggs) and Egg.  I looked up the place and it received many good reviews and seating was only available at the Sushi bar as the place was extremely crowded.  They also charged me for a re-fill of a foutain soda, I was not happy and that was conveyed in my tip.  Philly you struck out, I really missed Takara today.

Coast to Coast

Thursday, February 2nd, 2006

Well it looks like I’ll be heading to Philly again come Monday night until Wednesday. Then it looks like I’m off to Sacramento that Sunday, I’m thinking I’ll try sushi on both coast and rate them again. Good thing I have like a trazillion books to read.
