Another fun-filled summer weekend has been accomplished. I went and saw Clerks 2 which I thought was fantastic, even Anne Franke would agree. The biggest highlight was the 3 minute trailer for Snakes on Plane which was followed up with a 2 minute ovation from the crowd.

In case you missed it Saturday night, Recess Rocks, was playing at the Cuckoo’s Nest in Cary, IL. The sound was good and we even received some free stickers so who could complain. Plus the beer was incredibly cheap. Some new pictures have been posted in the Pictures section of the site.

Sunday I saw Pirates 2 which left a lot to be desired. I thought the first film was mediocre, but this film was just boring and drawn out. What happened to all the funny quips that were stragetically placed in the first film. At least I didn’t see Lady in the Water.

Fortunately this weekend was VERY well planned out. Louie called me, 18 hour advance notice, that he needed a partner for a canoe race. Mind you I’ve never stepped foot in a canoe nor paddled anything other then a roommate. So lo and behold I said yes and Louie and I were set for the Paddle and Portage, more information here http://www.sportsinwisconsin.com/paddle/index.php. Needless to say we came in dead last in our group, 241st out of the roughly 280 that actually finished the course. Our time was an 1:15 for the 1.5 paddle, 1.5 portage and then another 1.5 paddle. Thankfully we woke up the next day and went boating with the Perri’s. I tried water skiing for the first time ever as well. My body was not happy with this and with my lungs filled with water I was able to get up once for a total of 3 seconds. It was pretty awesome, but now I can barely move a leg.
